Gas oils (oil sand)
A complex combination of hydrocarbons obtained by the distillation of the products of a bitumen cracking process. It consists primarily of hydrocarbons, aromatic hydrocarbons, and heterocyclic aromatics having carbon numbers predominantly in the range of C11 to C40. It has an aromatic content greater than 5% and boils in the range of approximately 230°C to 550°C (446°F to 1022°F). It is the feed for a gas oil hydrotreater.
