SCH 28080 is a potent inhibitor of H+/K+-ATPase (IC50 = 20 nM). SCH 28080 binds to the K+ recognition site and is competitive with respect to K+. SCH 28080 blocks gastric acid secretion in vitro and in vivo via inhibiting gastric H+/K+-ATPase.
