2-(2-Oxo-5-phenylimidazolidin-1-yl)benzoic acid is an intermediate in the synthesis of 9-Oxo Epinastine Hydrochloride (O856500), a metabolite and decomposition product of Epinastine (E588715) which is an antihistamine and mast cell stabilizer that is used in eye drops for the treatment of allergic conjunctivitis.
