Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) Assay Kit is an assay kit designed for the detection and quantification of Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) concentrations in serum, plasma and tissue homogenates using a microplate reader. Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) reduces Fe3+ to Fe2+. Fe2+ reacts with phenanthroline, and a color developing reaction occurs. The absorbance is measued and then the concentration of vitamin C in sample can be indirectly determined.
