Folate-PEG-amine, MW 1,000 can bind to folate receptor on the surface of a broad spectrum of cancer tissue. The polymer can be used to design nanoparticles-based targeted cancer therapy via folate receptor which minimizes nonspecific uptake in normal cells. The terminal amine can react with a variety of functional groups, such as succinimidyl ester (NHS) or carboxylic acid (COOH) in the presence of HATU or EDC.
