18:1 (8-cis) PC is a 1,2-di-octadecenoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine in which the acyl group specified at positions 1 and 2 is (8Z)-octadecenoyl. Phosphatidylcholine can form a hydrophobic surface in the mucus by acting as a surfactant to inhibit the penetrance of bacteria.
