BEC HCl is an Arginase II inhibitor(Ki=0.31μM).In vitro,BEC HCl enhances NO-dependent smooth muscle relaxation by binding to arginase as a transition state analogue.In vivo,BEC HCl enhances peribronchiolar and perivascular inflammation in mice.
