Triacetin

Triacetin, CAS 102-76-1, is a triester of glycerol manufactured through chemical synthesis from glycerol and Acetic Acid, available as clear transparent oily liquid. Triacetin is widely used as emulsifier. It is affirmed by US Food and Drug Administration as GRAS (generally recognized as safe) and widely accepted as safe food additive in many countries with E number E1518.
