Lyso phosphatidylethanolamine (Lyso PE) is a lipid present naturally in plants and it retards senescence in leaves, postharvest fruits and flowers. LPE has antifungal and antibacterial activity. LPE also functions to induce neuronal differentiation, increases intracellular calcium, stimulates chemotactic migration and cellular invasion in cancer cells.
