Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose, CAS 9004-32-4, is the sodium salt of Carboxymethyl Cellulose, available as white to cream colored powder. Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose is most common used form of Carboxymethyl Cellulose which is also know as cellulose gum. Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose is widely used as thickener in food production, especially in gluten free product. It is widely accepted as safe food additive in many countries with E number E466.
