Brain PI(4,5)P2 (ammonium salt)
PIP2 is a component of membrane-bound receptors associated with PLC (phospholipase C). PIP2 is an activator of PKC (protein kinase C) in the presence of calcium ions phosphatidylserine. It potently stimulates brain PLD (phospholipase D) activity in vitro.
