L-Lyxose-[1,2-13C2]
The labelled L-xylose is the enantiomer of D-xylose. It is used in molecular model calculations for drug binding and recognition studies related to aldose reductase. Escherichia coli also utilizes L-xylose, which encodes L-xylulose kinase.
