Applications |
Powdered sucrose is used in formulations for flavoring or sweetening when sugar is required to dissolve rapidly. It can be used as a diluent in the prescription of solid preparations when it is necessary to mix tiny active ingredients with small sucrose particles to achieve content uniformity. In solution, a high concentration of powdered sugar (70% w/v) increases viscosity and has some anti-corrosion properties. Can be used as sugar coating solution, wet granular binder/thinner.

Stability and Storage Conditions |
This product is stable in air under normal storage conditions at room temperature and low relative humidity. Over 160℃ becomes caramelized and decomposes. It is easier than granular sucrose to absorb moisture, dilute solution or dry storage can cause microbial growth. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.

Source and Preparation |
Refined sucrose granules are ground with corn starch to form a fine powder. Anti-caking agents can be added, such as tricalcium phosphate, and various silicates.
