Animal-Free Recombinant Human EGF
EGF is a powerful growth factor that promotes the growth of different epidermal and epithelial cells. Furthermore, EGF has been demonstrated to reduce gastric secretion and play a role in the healing of wounds. EGF transmits signals via a receptor called c-erbB, which belongs to the class I tyrosine kinase receptor family. This receptor also interacts with TGF-α and VGF (vaccinia virus growth factor). Recombinant Human EGF is a 6.2 kDa spherical protein composed of 53 amino acid residues, including 3 intramolecular disulfide bonds.
